Subtle Transformations
All buildings tell a story. Quiet or loud, simple or complex. At a time when architecture is increasingly global, buildings around the world tell more and more identical stories. That’s why we are proud to work with Over Byen Architects. In the highly competitive Danish architectural industry, Over Byen Architects have rapidly gained a reputation as one of the leading studios specialising in transforming our built heritage. With an immense respect for the given context, they rethink and revitalise listed and protected buildings so they remind us where we come from, and where we are going.
Over Byen architects wanted STEREO to help tell their story and stay attractive and relevant in the eyes of customers, employees and other stakeholders. To this end, we conducted a series of in-depth interviews with their ambitious team, and with stakeholder representatives and customers to better understand their world and their preferences.

What we learned was that everyone appreciated the transformative potential of the studio’s work. The buildings ‘came to life again’ and made sense in entirely new ways through the architects gentle interventions. This led us to phrase the tagline ‘Mening påny’ — ‘Making Sense Anew’, which became the motor for the communication strategy, a revitalised brand narrative, visual identity and new website to signify, and amplify the powerful and transformative quality of their work.
For Over Byen Architects ‘Making Sense Anew’ become a new way of expressing the value they create for their customers, employees and to the world around them.
