A Human Tone of Voice in Academia

NUBU is the Danish national research institute focussing on vulnerable children and youth. The institute approached STEREO with the ambition to become more visible as an independent unit in the university college world. Also, NUBU wanted to communicate about their research projects in a human-centered and respectful tone of voice without compromising on academic substance and depth. To achieve these goals, STEREO worked closely with the institute to come up with solutions, and assisted with name development, core story and visual identity to match.

NUBU wished to visualise their focus on vulnerable children without falling in the trap of stigmatization.

To give NUBU a human look and feel we teamed up with the talented illustrator Timo Kuilder. His illustrations struck a perfect balance between being both playful yet serious.

As an add-on to the project, we developed a stamp to be used by all researcher within the university college, as a quality stamp. The Danish text translates into to: Research from the university College.
